Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Bars! + Having Fun with Food

Hi my Lovelies! How are you this weekend? I dreamed up these Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Bars when I was walking around in my local supermarket store and walked by a bag of pretzels. I picked up the bag and couldn’t shake of the image of these pretzels swimming in dark chocolate heaven. Yum. Did you ever play with food? Sometimes I like to take a break and have a random wander around the supermarket. Have any of you ever done that? Especially, the snack section. It takes me back to my childhood memories, consolidated in aluminum wrapped wagon wheels marshmallows in the middle of 2 chocolate biscuits, swimming goldfish crackers, oreos, shortbread animal biscuits with pink lime green frosting, Pocky sticks… I remember I used to drink hot chocolate using a chocolate hazelnut cylinder shaped wafer as a straw and being (sort of) disappointed when the wafer would dissolve into the hot chocolate. Then, shortly after trying again slurping the hot cocoa with wafer straw. I would repeat this gleeful scenario until my mom …

Raspberry Muffins with Almond Butter Streusel + Finding Nemo

Hi Friends! How has your week been? My week has been a blur as of lately. Between searching for job openings, writing, writing for the blog, writing for Balanced Being, baking and photographing. It’s been quite a ride. No two days are the same. It’s exciting, I’m learning a whole lot. How to conquer your fear I recently wrote an article called 3 Steps to Flushing Out Your Fear for Natalie’s Balanced Being blog. I take you through these steps to conquering your fear and be able to do anything you want! I feel that we all have something that we are called to do; something that¬† we are intuitively pulled to. Yet, at times we may avoid doing it because we feel scared. We start thinking in our minds of the ‘What ifs?’ What if something horrible happens, what if this and that….¬† We don’t know for sure what will happen, but everything that we do in life is a learning experience and that’s good for us. Look out for that article, it should …

There’s magic within you + Vegan Apple Gallete

Happy weekending friends! Today I have a poem for you and a beautiful rustic vegan apple gallete. I have had trouble stringing coherent sentences these days amidst job applications. It takes a very long time to fill one job application and to my dismay, I haven’t heard back from any. It’s not a good feeling and it makes me feel like I’ve lost hope. But I guess with these things you have to throw your nets as far as possible and hope that one catches. One afternoon I simply couldn’t fill out an application any longer and decided to bake. I’m glad I made the choice because this apple gallete has the tartness of the apples combined with the buttery soft sweet pastry as the crust. and I love the crust. Whenever I eat a cheesecake, I always always eat the crust last, because it is the best part of the cake! The childlike nature in me refuses to lose hope in this job hunting season. Perhaps it’s something else that you’ve been working on …
